Legend of Dragon Son-in-law

Chapter 264 - 263 Isandro Jackson’s Little Scheme_1

“Quella Radcliffe?”

Startled to hear her good friend’s name, Anna Harris asked, “You are Julius Reed?”

She would naturally not forget that name, as in this day and age, there aren’t many people who use numbers as names, and he is furthermore her best friend’s husband.

At the time, she had teased Quella Radcliffe, saying that twelve put together resembled a prince, telling Quella that she had met a prince on a white horse.

But the man in front of her was young and handsome, and although slim, very fit—simply the epitome of a male god!

Was this the same person as the good-for-nothing son-in-law?

Just then, Joel Martin grabbed a fire extinguisher and walked over furiously, cursing as he came, “Dare to push me! No one has ever been so rude to me in my entire life!”

“Stop it!”

Seeing this scene, Anna Harris quickly intervened to stop Joel Martin, “This is my best friend’s husband. I had called her when I was coming over, hoping she could take us out, after all, I haven’t been back to Five-river Province for many years.”

After speaking, she looked at Julius Reed, her expression complex, “But my best friend is really too busy, so she sent her husband to meet us. I remembered wrong, which led to this misunderstanding.”

After all, he was Quella Radcliffe’s husband, and it was their first meeting; she didn’t have any dislike for Julius Reed, so naturally, she stopped Joel Martin.

Anna Harris didn’t particularly like such spoiled and ignorant rich kids who, relying on their family’s wealth, engaged in unseemly behavior, and were good for nothing apart from living off their parents.

“Even if he’s your best friend’s husband, he shouldn’t be so rude, right? Calvin just asked a question, and you pushed him down, at least an apology is in order, isn’t it?”

The woman in the white dress was named Isandro Jackson, an overseas Chinese whose family had sailed across the oceans to set up business earlier on, and while they had some wealth locally, they still fell short compared to Stanislaus Potter.

After all, Five-river Province is one of the most prosperous provinces in the country, and Golden Eagle Group is an international conglomerate, a name recognized by many.

“Apologize? Are you kidding me? I would indeed like to apologize—ask him if he dares to accept it?”

Julius Reed sized up Joel Martin from head to toe, raised an eyebrow, and asked, “So, which rich second-generation are you from? Just by looking, I can tell you’re indulging in pleasures—pushed and fallen so easily. Have you been frequenting nightclubs too much?”

After this remark, Joel Martin’s face turned exceedingly awkward, Julius Reed had hit the nail on the head; he had learned bad habits from a group of classmates during school, still went to nightclubs every few days, and often had relations with women.

Now, being called out by Julius Reed, especially in front of Anna Harris whom he liked, made Joel Martin’s anger surge uncontrollably.

“Enough! Stop arguing! Let’s just do it for my sake.”

Seeing the situation worsening, Anna Harris had to step in to mediate.

“That… Julius Reed, thank you for coming out especially to pick me up, tell Quella Radcliffe I appreciate her kindness. I’m here with a few friends now, so it’s not convenient to trouble you. I’ll be staying here for a few days, then I’ll visit her in Gonzalez City.”

Keeping Julius Reed around would surely not end well, as these people would not let things go and might even secretly seek revenge on Julius Reed.

No matter what, he was still her best friend’s husband who, even including her friend, wasn’t particularly liked, even somewhat disliked.

But having interacted with him, Anna Harris actually found Julius Reed quite interesting; he had managed to anger Joel Martin, who was usually so arrogant, to the point of fuming.

“Alright! Since that’s the case, I’ll be leaving! Make sure to tell Quella Radcliffe, don’t make it look like I never came to pick you up, making me seem unreliable.”

Julius Reed turned around and took out his phone to message Quella Radcliffe.

He had come, but the other party didn’t need him.

“Anna, you said he is your best friend’s boyfriend, responsible for meeting you?”

Isandro Jackson’s eyes flickered, and his mind suddenly became active.

“Right! What’s the matter?”

Anna Harris gazed at her classmate, somewhat puzzled by what she meant.

“Since he’s already here, and he’s also your best friend’s husband, why drive him away!”

Within Isandro’s heart, scheming away, he believed that only by keeping Julius Reed could he have the chance to get back at Joel Martin. If he let him go just like that, he couldn’t swallow his pride.

“Heather Gonzalez, don’t you think so?”

He then turned to look at Heather Gonzalez.

“Sure… Sure, since he’s here, let’s not send him away.”

Heather usually got along with Isandro, and now, with Isandro furiously blinking, Heather naturally knew what she meant. Anyway, this matter had nothing to do with her, they could make as much noise as they wished.

“Right! So he’s Anna’s best friend’s husband. I didn’t know, no offense!”

Joel Martin might not have been the smartest, but he was very proficient in schemes that hurt people. He naturally understood Isandro’s intentions, so he quickly shifted from angry to beaming with joy.

“Mr. Reed is already here, and he’s from here anyway, why not have him show us around? Anna, you shouldn’t refuse.”

He hurriedly chimed in.

Once Julius left, although he could still take revenge, what could be better than making the other party embarrass themselves in public?

“Forget it! Joel Martin, your family is local too, that’s enough for us. We don’t need him.”

Anna Harris certainly knew what they were up to and definitely would not let Julius suffer the consequences for nothing. After all, this was her best friend’s husband, and even just for Quella Radcliffe’s sake, she couldn’t stand by and watch Julius get trapped.

“Hey! That being said, my family, although from Five-river Province, have also, just like you, not been back for many years.”

Joel Martin spoke with animation: “Like this airport, for instance, it was very shabby when I left, and now, just a few short years later, it’s almost like an international airport! It seems that Five-river Province has changed a lot recently; why not let Brother Reed give us a tour?”

His eyes kept stealthily glancing at Julius Reed while calculating how to mess with him.

Having studied abroad for years, Joel Martin hadn’t learned much else, but his skill in tormenting people had definitely improved. He hung out with the scions of wealthy families, thinking of nothing else but how to demean others day after day.

And, incidentally, enjoying the pleasure that money brings.

“Julius has his own matters to attend to, we shouldn’t bother him.”

Anna Harris frowned tightly, growing even more disgusted with these people while hoping Julius would understand her hint and find an opportunity to leave soon.

However, Quella Radcliffe’s husband was quite rash indeed; how could he simply shove someone without considering the other person’s status.

Stanislaus Potter’s nephew was not so easy to provoke.

“No problem at all! After all, you are my wife’s best friend, I can’t let my wife lose face just because I’m back!”

But Julius Reed responded as if he couldn’t understand her words at all, directly agreeing to the plan, believing that no matter what little tricks the other side played, it would only backfire on them.

In the face of absolute power, what use were conspiracy and tricks!
