Chapter 1028 The Ceremony!

There was a contract between Vurrons and the Fawkes Kingdom, but not with other races. The Kingdom couldn\'t directly or indirectly harm them. But if the neighboring races attacked them, there were ways to see the destruction of Vurrons as well as maintain the contract.

Jamie\'s eyes flickered when he saw Asher\'s condition. He also thought of the same thing Alfred had going on in his head. It would also help him test the extent of the store owner\'s support for the Vurrons.

Time flew by, and ten minutes passed in a flash.

Thud!

Asher crashed down as the flame finally stopped feeding on his blood. At that moment, the flame had grown to several meters in size, and its burning intensity had reached an extent where even the altar was melting.

It looked as if the flame would go out of control, but suddenly, a mysterious phenomenon happened, and the fire started to recede on its own. Its color started to change back to orange, and the bloody glow around it went away.

Asher gathered whatever strength he could and prostrated himself in front of the flame.

His eyes contained reverence for his ancestors. At the same time, the people down the altar, including Alfred and other Vurron leaders, also kneeled in reverence to the flame.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Asher then stood up, and firecrackers began to go off, glowing even in the day while the people in the crowd cheered as the ceremony came to its conclusion.

"Thank you for gracing us with your presence, your majesty!" Asher thanked Jamie after eating blood-replenishing medicines.

Jamie nodded and congratulated Asher for going through another successful ceremony.

"You should stop feeding blood to the flame," Jamie then suddenly said, surprising Asher and all the other Vurron leaders nearby.

Neither of them liked Jamie telling them what to do with their ceremony, but this was a world that only cared about strength, so Asher respectfully asked Jamie, "Why do you say so, your majesty?"

The garrison commander frowned after hearing Asher.

"When his majesty says something, do you need to know the answer," Gorand scoffed, clearly angry with Asher and the Vurrons.

Jamie smiled and stopped Gorand from continuing further. He added, "Gorand, when will you learn that people\'s traditions are more important to them than their lives? Since you will be coming here, I don\'t want to hear any complaints regarding this attitude of yours against the Vurron\'s traditions."

"Thank you for reprimanding me. I will keep that in mind, your majesty!" Gorand bowed and apologized. When he raised his head and looked at Asher and the Vurrons, his eyes were like snakes, as if he wanted to kill them immediately.

"The fire is turning into a life of its own, and it nearly got out of control today. As your fortune grows, similarly, the hunger of the flame will increase. The more blood it feeds on, the more powerful and evil the spirit of the flame will become."

"If in the next ceremony, you can\'t become True God, then you will die due to loss of blood, while the spirit will grow out of control," Jamie stated.

Asher and the other Vurron leaders had a change of expression when they heard Jamie. Asher, in particular. His face turned ugly since he also noticed that during the feeding.

"Your Majesty, is there a way to stop the spirit from forming?" Asher bowed and asked.

Alfred and others were shocked to see the reaction from Asher, as they thought that Jamie was exaggerating. But from the way Asher acted, it became certain that whatever Jamie said was correct.

"Become a True God and tame the spirit!" Jamie replied.

Even though he didn\'t like the Vurrons after they displayed rebellion through the contract, Jamie was still being honest with them. He wanted friendly relations with the Vurrons until he was sure that the store owner wouldn\'t attack them if he targeted the Vurrons.

"Thank you-"

Asher was going to thank Jamie, but he suddenly stopped and looked into the sky. Jamie\'s face changed as well, and he also turned around.

The next moment, a man appeared, floating in the air. His eyes contained the vicissitudes and cruelties of life.

"Father!" Jamie was taken aback when he realized the man floating in the air was none other than his father, the previous king of the Fawkes Kingdom.

Only True Gods and above level cultivators could fly in the sky without any external help.

Jerome looked down at his son on the platform. His eyes contained a hint of anger as he descended down.

The next moment, a wave of pressure attacked Jamie, throwing him backward. The condition of others on the stage was even more terrible, as they were forced to kneel while their veins were on the verge of exploding.

"How dare you hide this from me?" Jerome roared in anger as he stared at his son.

Jamie\'s expression was ugly, as it didn\'t take him long to guess why his father was here and how he found out about it.

"Father-"

"Shut up!" Jamie wanted to speak, but Jerome cut his sentence midway.

Jerome then looked at the kneeling Asher. He extended his hands, grabbed him by the head, and picked him up.

"So, you want to secede from the Fawkes Kingdom?"

"Do you even know how much your ancestor pleaded with me to retain these five cities?" Jerome growled.

The Fawkes Kingdom was his child, and he couldn\'t let it be divided by anyone. His anger knew no bounds when he found out about the contract, and he came rushing here.

Jamie\'s face changed when he saw his father\'s expression.

\'Let him do it, and when the store owner acts, I will become free of his control,\' The thought rang in Jamie\'s head, but he soon stopped letting his mind go wild.

If anything happened to Jerome, it wouldn\'t take a day for the neighboring Kingdom to attack the Fawkes Kingdom and change the ruler.

Jamie gritted his teeth and called out to Jerome while fighting the pressure from him at the same time.

Jamie sprinted to his father\'s side, yelling, "You can\'t harm him."
