Chapter 54
Chapter 54
Outside the door, Sun Jing didn’t expect Qiao Qing to suddenly open the door. Before she knew it, she had fallen into her arms.
Qiao Qing frowned as she held onto her. Immediately, Sun Jing’s eyes filled with tears. It wasn’t certain whether she was crying from feeling touched or if her nose hurt from the impact.
“Qingqing baby, so you love me after all!”
Qiao Qing, “...”
[You really are misunderstanding.]
He Wanqing watched the two interact with a stunned face. She then looked over to Qiao Qing, “Baby, who is this?”
Before Qiao Qing could speak, Sun Jing began to introduce herself excitedly, “Qingqing baby’s mommy, hello, I am Qingqing’s most important friend!”
Qiao Qing, “...”
She admitted to this?”
He Wanqing was a little startled, “Your age... is similar to mine right? You are Qingqing’s important friend?”
“Blarg! Why would our age cause any problems?” Sun Jing didn’t seem to feel awkward that her age had been guessed. She slapped her own chest and said, “I have a young heart!”
He Wanqing nodded and grinned drily, “How did you and Qingqing meet? You came today because...?”
“We met online!” Sun Jing lied right away, “I came this time just to visit her. Look, I even brought some stuff.”
She pointed to the two large boxes behind her, “A box of toys and a box of books. These are all for Qingqing baby!”
Qiao Qing eyed those two large boxes and she felt a headache. She regretted opening the door for this person even more now.
He Wanqing nodded, a little startled. Something felt wrong.
What kind of friend gives another friend so many books?
Plus, Qingqing was already 17. Why would she want toys?
Qiao Qing was worried that He Wanqing may notice something was wrong with this so she gave Sun Jing a look. “Come on up.”
“Alright!”
Sun Jing hollered at the assistants behind her. Each one of them carried a box and followed Qiao Qing up the stairs.
When they entered Qiao Qing’s study room, Sun Jing was shocked by the filled up shelves of medical books.
“Qingqing baby, do you want to publish a medical book next? That would be a rather big jump from your normal genre!”
“I don’t have such plans.” Qiao Qing picked up the cup off her desk and poured some tea into it, “How come you are personally visiting this time?”
“Qingqing baby sure is thoughtful!”
Sun Jing was about to take over the cup of tea when she saw Qiao Qing drink from it herself. Instantly, Sun Jing’s face turned dark.
“Qingqing baby, the reason why I came all the way from the capital city is that...”
Qiao Qing interrupted, “Answer my question.”
Sun Jing said weakly, “Why did I show up personally? It’s because you rejected my courier and also returned everything I shipped to you. So, I can only personally come here to get you to sign the books.”
Qiao Qing’s brows furrowed tighter, “The book’s been published for two years. Why are we doing this again?”
“Blame your book for being different than others. Other people’s books make the most sale right after publication, then afterward, everyone forgets about them. Yours on the other hand, no matter how much we produce, it’s never enough! The moment we print more and put them on shelves, they are sold out! I am about to die from your fans’ pestering!”
Sun Jing spoke sweet words as she squinted and checked out Qiao Qing’s expression.
“I promise you that this will be the last batch! If you sign 100 books we will sell 100 books! This will be a favor we are doing for your readers. How’s that!”
“After all, you refuse to sell the book right to any film companies and refuse to even discuss anything copyright related. You refuse to host any meet and greets. If we can sell more books, then we can earn more money!”
Qiao Qing fake snickered, “You think I need money?”
“No!” Sun Jing hastily shook her head. “But nobody ever thinks they have too much money.”
Qiao Qing then replied, “I am about to write my university entrance exam and I need to study. I don’t have time for this.”
Sun Jing said, “This won’t take too much time! We will only sign 100 signatures. That’s 5 seconds each. We’ll be done within 10 minutes!”
